A ‘White Helmet’ Talks About the Carnage in Idlib (AUDIO INTERVIEW)

Syrian government troops and their Russian allies continue to pound Idlib Province. Idlib, in the northwestern part of the country, is the last major stronghold of rebels aligned against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and a major government offensive has left many hundreds of civilians dead, far more wounded, and hundreds of thousands internally displaced.

The Media Line spoke with Ayman. Ayman, who asked that his last name not be used, coordinates the media efforts of the “White Helmets,” an ad hoc group of volunteers who work to help civilians in rebel controlled areas – especially those targeted by government forces. He says it’s a 24/7 job and that much of Idlib right now is like “Hell on Earth.”
