American Jewry Ponders Next Steps After Latest Synagogue Shooting (AUDIO INTERVIEW)

Following Saturday’s deadly shooting at a synagogue outside of San Diego, California, many American Jews are feeling vulnerable and considering new measures to safeguard their houses of prayer and public spaces.

The attack by 19-year-old John Earnest killed one person and injured three others exactly six months to the day after white supremacist Robert Gregory Bowers shot dead eleven worshipers at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.

It appears that Earnest may be an equal-opportunity hater, as he reportedly was being investigated by police for possible links to an arson attack on a mosque last month in nearby Escondido.

The Media Line discussed the growing incidence of anti-Semitic incidents in the US with Avital Leibovich, Director of the American Jewish Committee’s Jerusalem office.
