Amid Rising Global anti-Semitism, Nazi Hunter Stresses Importance of Commemorating Holocaust (AUDIO INTERVIEW)

Israel on Thursday observed Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is defined by somber ceremonies and a nation-wide siren that blares for two minutes to commemorate the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators during World War Two.

On the eve of Yom HaShoah, as it is called in Israel, all businesses shut down, flags are flown at half-mast on public buildings and virtually all non-emergency activities are suspended.

Amid an apparent rise in anti-Semitism across the globe, The Media Line spoke about the significance of Holocaust Remembrance Day with Dr. Efraim Zuroff, chief Nazi hunter at the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Director of its Israel office and eastern European affairs.
