Australia will open its borders to fully vaccinated tourists beginning on February 21. The country’s prime minister, Scott Morrison, made the announcement on Monday. Australia’s borders have been closed to tourists and some citizens for the last nearly two years and has barred its own citizens from leaving the country during the same time period. The government has been relaxing restrictions on Australians since the start of the national vaccination effort last year. Some 79% of Australian’s have received at least two doses of a vaccine against the coronavirus.
