Bahrain, Kuwait approve sotrovimab for treatment

Bahrain and Kuwait approved the use of the monoclonal antibody sotrovimab to treat people infected with the coronavirus. The drug, approved last week for emergencyt use by the US Food and Drug Administration, is used to treat mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in patients at risk for progressing to severe disease. The authorization is for adults and children, 12 years and older, who weigh at least 40 kg, or about 88 pounds. It is not intended for patients who are hospitalized or require oxygen due to COVID-19. The UAE also approved the use of sotrovimab last week, Arab News reported.
