Brazil becomes 2nd country to pass 500,000 virus deaths
Brazil is the second country in the world to pass 500,000 deaths from the coronavirus. The United States was the first country to do so. Some 500,800 were recorded as of Saturday, its Health Ministry reported. The average number of daily deaths passed 2,000 during the past week, as it enters a third wave of the pandemic. Some 11% of Brazil’s population has been vaccinated.
