Medical workers were among the first to receive the Russian-made Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus in the Gaza Strip on Monday. More medical workers and people with health problems will receive their shots beginning on Tuesday. The vaccine drive begins a day after about 20,000 doses of the vaccine arrived from the United Arab Emirates to Gaza via the Rafah crossing with Egypt, in a delivery said to have been arranged by Mohammed Dahlan, a rival of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas who is living in exile in the UAE.
