India implements world’s largest lockdown

India began a total lockdown of its 1.3 billion citizens on Wednesday in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the measure in a TV address, warning citizens to stay inside or risk exposure to the disease. The lockdown is for 21 days.
