Indonesia begins vaccination program with Sinovac shot
Indonesia, the world’s fourth most populous country, began its vaccination operation Wednesday with President Joko Widodo, and top military, police and medical officials receiving shots. The head of the country’s Ulema Council also was inoculated after the Islamic clerical body ruled that the vaccine was halal and permitted to Muslims. Indonesia is permitting emergency use of China’s Sinovac Biotech vaccine.
