Iran grants emergency approval for locally developed vaccine
Iran had granted emergency use approval for the domestically produced Barekat (Blessing) vaccine. The approval of the vaccine developed by the state-owned foundation Setad was granted on Monday. Some 3 million doses of the vaccine have been produced so far, according to state media. The approval comes as Iran has had difficulty procuring foreign vaccines due to sanctions that make the Islamic Republic unable to transfer money to pay for them.
