Israel wants to set up its own vaccine manufacturing facility in the country, to alleviate the necessity of relying on imported vaccines to protect the public. On Monday, the Finance Ministry called for proposals for a model of how to establish a local vaccine manufacturing facility via an an Approach to Market request, which is offered before a proposal and an actual tender. Responses are due by February 17, 2022. The request was made by the Finance Ministry on behalf of the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Economic Council and the Health, Economy and Defense ministries, based on a July 11 government decision.
