Israel will send vaccine doses to Palestinian Authority

Israel will transfer 1 million – 1.4 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine to the Palestinian Authority, the Prime Minister’s Office confirmed. The new Israeli government approved the move on Friday, though the decision reportedly was make by the previous Netanyahu government to send the vaccines. The vaccines, which will expire soon, reportedly are being loaned to the Palestinians from Israel’s stock of vaccines, and is expected to be paid back when Pfizer fills the Palestinian Authority’s order in the fall. Israel has vaccinated more than 100,000 Palestinians that enter for work. More than 430,000 Palestinians have received at least one dose of a vaccine and 260,000 have received both, including some 52,000 Gazan Palestinians. Israel says that under agreements with the Palestinians the Palestinian Authority is responsible for providing its citizens with vaccine.
