Israelis returning from UAE are 1/3 of travelers’ infections
One-third of all Israelis returning from abroad who, within seven days of their return, become infected by the coronavirus had traveled to the United Arab Emirates. Commercial flights between Israel and the UAE began operating on Dec. 1, 2020. According to data collected by Israel’s health ministry from Dec. 1, 2020 to January 12, 15% of those who returned from the US and 12% from Ukraine also were reported infected. Israel has not yet made the Gulf destination, one of the few vacation spots still available to Israelis, a red or a no travel zone.
