There have been more than 700,000 deaths from the coronavirus in the United States, according to figures released by Johns Hopkins University. The figure was reached late on Friday. More than 1,000 people are still dying each day from the virus, according to the US Centers For Disease Control and Prevention; this despite the fact that over 55% of the population is fully vaccinated and vaccines are available to anyone over the age of 12.
