Palestinians face $30 million shortfall for vaccines

A plan to vaccinate Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip will have a funding shortfall of $30 million, the World Bank reported on Monday. The World Bank called on Israel to assist the Palestinians in the financing, purchase and distribution of vaccines against the coronavirus, as well as to donate surplus doses of vaccine to them. The Palestinian Authority is planning on giving 20% of its citizens the vaccine through the COVAX program of the World Health Organization, which provides vaccine access for poor countries. It currently is looking for ways to inoculate at least 60% of all Palestinians.
