Pandemic does not stop Kumbh Mela festival along Ganges River in India

Hindu pilgrims descended upon the banks of the Ganges River in northern India, despite the coronavirus pandemic, for the seven-week Kumbh Mela festival. One of the world’s largest religious gatherings, the festival regularly attracts millions who wade into the river as a religious rite.
