Health care workers in Israel who received a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine against the coronavirus eight months after their second dose developed 50 times more neutralizing antibodies, according to a new study published in Lancet MIcrobe. The study involves 346 healthy hospital employees between the ages of 64 and 73 from the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, known as Ichilov. The report was authored by Dr. Esther Saiag, deputy director for information and operations at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, and Dr. David Bomze. Some 95.7% of the health care workers who received the third shot has a surge in antibodies. The group will continue to be screened for antibody levels, which could help with decisions about future doses.
