The United States announced on Saturday that it sent 2.5 million US-made vaccine doses against the coronavirus to Taiwan. The shipment sent on Saturday more than triples the number of vaccine doses that Washington has said it would send to the island nation. The vaccines are being sent as part of the Biden administration’s pledge to donate 80 million vaccine doses to countries around the world. Taiwan has refused to accept vaccine doses made in China, which it deems unsafe.
