Vatican employees who do not vaccinate could lose job

Vatican employees who do not get a vaccine against the coronavirus could lose their jobs. Employees who can not get a vaccine due to legitimate health reasons may be reassigned to a new position in which they do not come into contact with other people. The seven-page decree was issued earlier this month by Cardinal Giuseppe Bertello. Several thousand people work in Vatican City. Pope Francis, a proponent of the vaccine, was one of the first people at the Vatican to get the vaccine shots. Reporters traveling with the pope to Iraq next month, his first trip abroad since the start of the global pandemic, must be fully vaccinated.
