Wuhan Province in China shuts down after discovery of 4 COVID cases

China’s Wuhan province, where the coronavirus first emerged, ordered businesses and public transportation to close for at least three days after discovering four COVID-19 cases, in keeping with China’s zero COVID policy. The Jiangxia district of Wuhan, which has nearly 1 million residents, on Wednesday announced a ban on large group events and dining at restaurants, and said that it would close public entertainment venues and agricultural markets, and suspend bus and subway services. Residents were encouraged to not leave the province during the three days, while travelers were called on to not enter the area.
