The Western Wall tunnels in Jerusalem’s Old City will reopen on Thursday after being closed for five months due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Western Wall Heritage Foundation announced on Tuesday. Tours will be available by advanced reservation only, with a limit of 20 people. Visitors must abide by Israel’s coronavirus regulations.
Abu Dhabi’s media office announced on Monday that movie theaters had reopened, with capacity limited to 30%. Other coronavirus safety measures include social distancing, wearing masks and COVID-19 testing for all cinema staff members.
Hamad Hassan, health minister for Lebanon’s caretaker government, on Monday told the Voice of Lebanon radio that the country should be locked down for two weeks after a spike in coronavirus cases. Lebanon registered a record 439 new cases and six fatalities on Sunday.
India on Monday reported 941 new fatalities from coronavirus, bringing the country’s total deaths in the pandemic to 50,921. India has the third-highest number of cases in the world behind Brazil and the US, with 2,647,663 reported infections, according to the Johns Hopkins coronavirus tracker. Of the total cases, 1,919,842 have recovered.
