Afghanistan Peace Talks Resume in Qatar After 2-Month Hiatus

Peace negotiations resumed on Tuesday in Qatar between the Afghan government and the Taliban. It is the first time that the negotiating teams have met since April, the AFP news agency first reported. The meeting was announced by both sides in tweets.

The meeting comes as the United States has begun pulling its troops out of Afghanistan, which it says will be completed by September 11.
