Axe-wielding Palestinian Planning Terror Attack Arrested in West Bank

A Palestinian man armed with an axe and carrying a letter expressing his intent to carry out a revenge terror attack was arrested by Israel Police officers at the Tapuah Junction in the northern West Bank. The man, 22, from the Palestinian town of Al-Bireh, was arrested very early Monday morning and taken for questioning.

Police said in a statement that the man had been waiting in the area for about an hour after waiting for an Israeli settler standing alone that he could attack.

Also overnight Sunday, Israeli security forces arrested nine Palestinians in cities and towns throughout the West Bank suspected of terrorist activity.

Meanwhile, a Jewish man, 45, was attacked and beaten after he entered the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya late on Sunday night by the Arab residents of the area.
