One police officer and four other people were wounded in what apparently was a bomb attack Wednesday morning against a bus carrying police personnel in the southern Turkish city of Adana. Security forces cordoned off the area as the wounded were taken to a hospital. Television footage showed a bus suffering from heavy damage, with officials saying they were not sure whether the bomb had been a roadside device or had been planted aboard or under the vehicle. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the blast, although Turkey has long endured violence at the hands of Kurdish separatists. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also sent troops into war-torn Syria to engage Kurdish militias fighting against troops loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
