Cause of Fire at Iran Petrochemical Factory Under Investigation

The cause of a fire at a major petrochemical factory in Iran is under investigation, the IRIB news agency reported. The fire at the factory on Kharg Island broke out in its gasoline tank at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday. It was later contained and completely put out according to the report.

It is not known how much damage the fire caused to the factory.

Kharg Island is Iran’s primary oil export terminal in the Persian Gulf.
