Drone From Lebanon Crosses Into Israel, Activates Iron Dome
Israel fired at a drone that crossed into northern Israel from Lebanon. The drone triggered Code Red rocket alerts in the northern Galilee and the southern Golan Heights on Friday at noon. The Iron Dome missile defense system was activated to neutralize the drone. It is the second drone to cross into Israel from Lebanon in the last two days. A third drone entered Israel’s airspace on Thursday from Gaza.
The incident occurs a day after the leader of Hizbullah in Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah said that it has the ability to convert rockets into precision missiles and that it has been producing drones for “a long time.” Nasrallah said that Hizbullah’s ability to convert thousands of rockets into precision missiles is due to the help of “experts from the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Israel has downed numerous drones that have flown over the border from Lebanon into Israeli airspace.
