The meeting, which also addressed the war in Ukraine, saw separate appearances by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz and Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki. Katz reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to dismantle Hamas and restore national security, while discussing the issue of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
The EU is considering hosting a “preparatory peace conference” with various Middle Eastern countries and international organizations, aiming to establish an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.
