Houthis Claim Yet Another Drone Strike against Saudi Arabia

Masirah TV, a media arm of the Iran-backed Houthi rebels controlling most of Yemen’s main population centers, said on Sunday that the Shi’ite group had launched yet another drone strike against Saudi territory. The attack was said to have been aimed at military facilities at the airport in Jizan, a port city in the southwestern tip of the kingdom, not far from the border with Yemen. Last week, the Houthis said they used drones against military facilities at an airport in Najran, about 100 miles inland, but also close to the Yemen border. The Saudis have yet to confirm or deny either claim – perhaps out of embarrassment over the Houthis’ biggest drone success yet, a strike two weeks ago by as many as seven unmanned aircraft that temporarily shut down a major east-west oil pipeline deep inside Saudi territory and for which the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis launched retaliatory strikes against targets in Sanaa, Yemen’s capital.
