Iran Starts Exporting Cars to Venezuela

Iran has begun exporting cars to Venezuela, the South American country’s transport minister, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, announced on a visit to Iran on Sunday. Iran and Venezuela have developed close economic and commercial ties, spurred by the US sanctions that have heavily hit both countries. Venezuelans have so far ordered 80,000 Iranian cars; 1,000 of them will be sent in the first stage, Velásquez said, according to a report by the Iranian Labour News Agency. Velásquez heads a delegation to the ninth meeting of the Joint Economic Commission of Iran and Venezuela, which started in the capital Tehran on Sunday.
