Israel Apprehends Palestinian Suspects in Murder of Jewish Teen

The Israel Defense Forces arrested two Palestinians suspected of murdering Jewish teen Dvir Sorek in the West Bank last Thursday. Authorities identified the two alleged terrorists as 24-year-old Nazir Saleh Khalil Atafra – a Hamas activist – and 30-year-old Qasem Araf Khalil Atafra, both of whom are from the Palestinian village of Beit Kahil, located near Hebron. On Saturday, Israeli forces detained four additional suspects during a raid in Beit Kahil, and reportedly found the car used to perpetrate the attack. The IDF launched a huge manhunt after Sorek was found stabbed to death near the West Bank Jewish community of Migdal Oz. In response, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu praised Israel’s security apparatus, which he said in recent years has “laid hands on all of the Palestinian murderers who have attacked Israelis.” He added that his government would “continue to forcefully fight terrorism on all fronts.”
