Israel Responds With Artillery Fire After Rocket Is Fired From Lebanon Into Israel
Israel fired artillery into Lebanon after a rocket hit northern Israel, the Israeli military said on Monday. “In response to the projectile launched from Lebanon into northern Israel earlier tonight, IDF Artillery forces are currently targeting the source of the launch in Lebanon,” the IDF tweeted shortly after 2 am local time Monday morning. A rocket launched from Lebanon fell overnight in an open field in northern Israel. No damage or injuries were reported, and no group claimed responsibility, but IDF spokesman Brig. Gen. Ran Kochav told Reshet Bet Radio that Palestinian groups were the likely source of the rocket fire.
