Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian driver and injured his wife in what the Israeli military says was an attempted car ramming attack at a checkpoint in the West Bank. The driver’s wife says that the couple, who have five children, left the house early Tuesday morning to run an errand.

The wife told a Palestinian state-run television station that the couple stopped at an Israel Defense Forces roadblock, and then drove off when the soldiers told them they could go. The soldiers then fired at their car, she said.
The IDF told media outlets that the incident is being investigated by the commander of the Binyamin Regional Brigade.
