Kuwait Announces New Ministers of Education, Finance After Resignations

Kuwait’s crown prince, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has announced new appointments for the roles of minister of education and minister of finance, effective immediately. Adel Al-Mane has been named education minister, and Fahd Abdulaziz Al-Jarallah will serve as finance minister. Both ministers were sworn in at Bayan Palace. These appointments follow the resignations of their predecessors, Manaf Abdulaziz Al-Hajeri and Hamad Al-Adwani, who stepped down on July 12 and July 17, respectively, without revealing the reasons for their departures.

Prime Minister Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah proposed the new appointments. Kuwait operates a unicameral parliamentary system with four-year terms. Relations between the Kuwaiti Cabinet and the National Assembly have historically been fraught, leading to multiple inquiries against cabinet members.
