Kuwait will hold a parliamentary election on September 29, the state-run Kuwait News Agency (Kuna) reported on Sunday, after Crown Prince Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah moved to dissolve parliament to resolve a political standoff between the executive and legislative branches of government. The 81-year-old crown prince, who has taken on most of the duties of his 85-year-old half-brother, the ruling Emir Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issued a decree calling on voters to elect a new 50-seat parliament on Sept. 29, Kuna said.
