Kuwaiti Government Resigns

Prime Minister Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah submitted his government’s resignation to the Gulf state’s emir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah on Thursday morning, a government spokesman said. The emir has not yet accepted the resignation. On Tuesday, Kuwaiti legislators filed a no-confidence motion against the country’s interior minister, Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, who has been questioned on allegations of abuse of power. Public Works Minister Jenan Mohsin Ramadan Boushehri also announced her resignation this week after a no-confidence motion was filed against her due to criticism over flood damage and road deterioration following heavy rainfalls.
