Mauritania re-established diplomatic ties with Qatar. The country had broken off relations with Qatar four years ago after Saudi Arabia led the region in freezing its ties over Qatar’s alleged support of terror groups and its close relations with Iran.

The boycott of Qatar, which included a land, sea and air blockade on the Gulf country, was lifted in January.
The foreign ministers of Mauritania and Qatar met over the weekend to discuss the “longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries,” Al Jazeera reported.
