Nasrallah Declares the Trump Administration a Terrorist Group

Hassan Nasrallah, secretary-general of Hizbullah, the Lebanese Islamist group considered a proxy of Tehran, condemned in a speech on Wednesday the US decision to classify Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. Nasrallah called the US decision, made earlier this week, a “new form American audacity,” and called the Trump Administration itself a terrorist organization, saying the US had used terrorist tactics beginning in World War II with the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. He urged the Lebanese people to stand by Iran and not allow the US declaration to affect relations between Beirut and Tehran, and called on them to consider countries he claimed had been destroyed by American and Israeli intervention. He also reaffirmed his own support and appreciation for Iran as a defender of Islam.
