Israel’s Foreign Minister Yair Lapid met on Wednesday night with senior Palestinian Authority official Hussein al-Sheikh, a close confidante of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. It is the second meeting between the two men in less than two months. Both Israel and the PA acknowledged that the meeting took place but did not offer specifics, according to reports.

Sheikh tweeted that he “reconfirmed the necessity of having a political horizon based on signed agreements and the resolutions of international legitimacy and stopping unilateral measures that obstruct the two-state solution.”
Sheikh and Lapid “also discussed the regional and international situation,” Sheikh tweeted.
