Two Abu Dhabi hotels in lockdown since Friday over fears of a coronavirus outbreak allowed some guests to leave on Sunday. Exiting the hotels was restricted Friday after two Italian professional cyclists staying there were suspected of having contracted the virus. The guests who were allowed to leave Sunday all tested negative for the disease. Authorities screened all guests, including 140 professional cyclists, at the W Abu Dhabi and the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi, both on Yas Island in the UAE’s capital. The cyclists were participants in the final stages of the UAE Tour, which was canceled after the tests. “No cases have been confirmed at the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Yas Island. We are working closely with the local authorities to facilitate the departure of remaining guests,” a spokeswoman of the hotel said. The UAE has reported 21 cases of the coronavirus so far and no fatalities.
