90 Al-Qa’ida Fighters Killed In U.S.-Iraqi Offensive Around Baghdad

A combined American-Iraqi offensive around Baghdad has resulted in the deaths of at least 90 Al-Qa’ida fighters, according to U.S. sources. The operation is being termed one of the biggest offensives since the start of the American-led offensive in 2003. American military sources report 55 Al-Qa’ida operatives killed in Operation Arrowhead Ripper in and around the city of Baquba in Diyala province since last Tuesday; and 28 during the past several days in Diyala, north of Baghdad.
