A Score of Yemeni Worshipers Killed at Prayer on Eid Holiday

Despite the apparent step toward returning normalcy to Yemen in the form of the return of its exiled president, reality was underscored on Thursday in the capital city of Sana’a when a bomb exploded inside a mosque crowded with worshipers celebrating the festival of Eid Al-Adha. Early reports indicate at least 29 fatalities at the Al-Balili Mosque and dozens of wounded, many fighting for their lives. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the third mosque bombing in three months. Since March 26 when the Saudi-led coalition took to the skies in support of Hadi-loyal forces, more than 4,900 deaths have been reported, including 2,200 civilians.
