Abbas Calls for International Conference to Resolve All Issues

In a letter read to the United Nations General Assembly to mark The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud ‘Abbas called for an international conference to solve all outstanding issues between Israel and the Palestinians. He called for agreements coming out of the conference to be guaranteed by the international entities comprising the Quartet (U.S.; United Nations; European Union and Russia). ‘Abbas called on Israel to "end aggressive military actions" and enact a "comprehensive and mutual ceasefire" that would pave the way to a resumption of negotiations and "a just solution."
