Abbas: US Administration Lacks Respect for Struggles of Palestinian People

In a major address on the state of Palestinian foreign relations delivered by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday, the beleaguered octogenarian accused the American administration of lacking respect for “the struggles and rights of the Palestinian people struggling for independence, self-determination, and basic human rights,” concluding that because of this, the Trump administration “is not morally or politically qualified to impose a ‘peace’ solution or demand to pass any deal.” According to Abbas, who is under pressure by critics charging his record on human rights is lacking, said that during the past two decades, much which he led the PA, it has sought to guarantee the realization of the most basic human rights for the Palestinian people, but that all attempts have been undermined by Israel. Abbas paid his respect to the African Union, calling it comrades of the Palestinian people.
