ABC Airs Film of Christmas Day Bomber Training in Yemen

America’s ABC network has aired a video showing Christmas day bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab training with Al-Qa’ida in Yemen. The film, in which the Nigerian is seen firing an automatic weapon at targets that included a star of David; the United Nations logo; and a British flag, is said to support intelligence assessments and Abdulmutallab’s boast that there are others like him in Yemen training for similar missions. Abdulmutallab failed in his mission when crew members subdued him on a flight to the United States and prevented him from detonating a bomb secreted in his underwear. Intelligence officials say that Abdulmutallab shares his mentor, Anwar Al-Awlaki, with Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the U.S. Army psychiatrist accused of killing 13 people in November at Fort Hood, Texas.
