Eight employees of America’s Central Intelligence Agency died on Thursday in a suicide bombing at a military base in Afghanistan near the border with Pakistan – the worst attack on U.S. intelligence in nine years. Claiming responsibility, a Taliban spokesman said the bomber was a soldier in the Afghan army who was loyal to the terrorist organization. The CIA has not explained what the victims’ jobs with the agency were. Canada also suffered its bloodiest day in two years on Thursday when a roadside bomb killed four of its soldiers and a journalist in Kandahar.
