An Afghan policewoman shot and killed a US security advisor in the Kabul police headquarters, according to NATO and local officials. The advisor was a retired member of the US military and was shot at a ceremony at the compound. The woman, who is a member of the police’s gender equality team was arrested. Kabul’s deputy police chief said an investigation is under way to determine if the killing was intentional or accidental. If intentional, it would be the first time that a female member of Afghanistan’s security forces has turned her weapon on a member of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force or a foreign contractor.
