Representatives of eleven nations joined in a coalition to fight the Islamic State met in Stuttgart on Wednesday agreed to “accelerate their contributions” without revealing any strategies or plans. Defense Secretary Ash Carter, who was on hand for the United States, referred to the loss of a Navy Seal, explaining that “Our overall approach is to enable local forces to do the fighting … but that doesn’t mean we aren’t going to do any fighting at all.
