Arab Israelis Arrested for Planning Terror Attacks for Hizbullah
Two Arab Israeli citizens were indicted for planning terror attacks in Israel on behalf of Hizbullah and for gathering intelligence meant for Iran. The two men from northern Israel met with Hizbullah operatives in Turkey several times and were recruited to smuggle arms into Israel, kidnap Israelis and to form a sleeper cell, the Shin Bet security agency announced on Sunday. They were also asked to locate sensitive sites inside Israel for Hizbullah to strike during a war, and reportedly were promised a lot of money for their efforts. The men reportedly were assisted by drug and weapons smugglers from Lebanon. They were arrested last month in a joint operation of the Shin Bet, Israel Police and Israel Defense Forces and disclosed the location of an MP5 submachine gun during questioning. Two other cell members from northern Israel also were arrested in the plot.
