Elon Musk, CEO of electric car maker Tesla, is in Israel to meet with representatives of the start-up Cortica—which has developed artificial intelligence technology that enables autonomous cars to better adapt to different road conditions. Musk reportedly is in talks with the Israel-based company to determine whether its systems can be integrated into Tesla’s cars. According to local media, Musk met Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for a two-hour-long breakfast on Tuesday, after which he held discussions with Transportation Ministry officials regarding the possibility of introducing self-driving Tesla cars into the Jewish state. Musk previously was in Israel two years ago to meet with members of Mobileye—which in 2017 was acquired by Intel for $15.3 billion—whose sensors were subsequently integrated into Tesla cars. However, that partnership was severed less than a year later without explanation. According to Forbes, Musk is the 58th wealthiest person in the world, with a net worth of $20 billion.
