An anti-Israel organization has successfully infiltrated a Birthright group, resulting in several of its participants to leave the program and protest against the Jewish state instead. Birthright was created by a group of pro-Israel philanthropists to offer young Jews the opportunity to connect with Israel through a free, 10-day experience. Birthright’s counterpoint, a fringe left-wing group called “Breaking the Silence,” has been seeking to undermine the pro-Zionist experience that has brought more than 650,000 Jewish youth to see and experience Israel. Last week, it publicized an incident where five participants of a Birthright group who are members of another far-left group IfNotNow based in the United States, to bolt their group in Hebron despite their contracts which prohibit such acts and join protests against Israel sponsored by Breaking the Silence. The five said they were now going to see the country from the perspective of the Palestinians.
